April Detention Staff Member of the Month

Sergeant Lori Wood has been employed by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office since April 15, 1996. She accepted the position of the On-Site Contract Acquisitions Reviewer (OSCAR) in October 2011. She exceeds expeditions when dealing with the oversight of contracts and service contracts to identify and report contract performance.

As an On-Site Contract Acquisitions Reviewer she conducts oversight of contract provider’s performance, provides technical direction, and certifies services were performed, when applicable, and in accordance with the contract. In addition she manages all security clearance aspects of contract personnel and LEDC volunteers. She must review the contract provider’s Quality Control Plan and approve it within Ten (10) working days of contract award. She must view the contract provider’s policies and procedures (including subsequent modifications), provide routine oversight duties, and provide technical assistance.

She has successfully written four (4) requests for proposals (RFP) since taking on this role. The inmate food service, inmate Commissary, and the inmate Medical provider contracts have been accepted and are in place. Sergeant Wood is currently working on the RFP for inmate Telephone Service. She has successfully implemented the Kiosk machines that are currently being installed in all the inmate housing units. This system will assist the facility and the contract provider’s with up to date modern technology.

Sergeant Lori Wood has maintained a great working atmosphere and is always a pleasure to work with. She goes the extra mile when needed and will stay late upon requests. She is very willing to help all personal within the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. She is truly an asset to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Bureau and the citizens of Forsyth County.
