These individuals went above and beyond in their preparation for, and response to, the inclement weather endured by the county on January 31st and February 1st, 2026. Through proactive planning and tireless effort, they ensured all high-traffic areas around the facility were properly treated with salt, significantly reducing the risk of slip hazards for staff, contract personnel, and the general public. Corporal Baker took the initiative to ensure adequate supplies were stocked and readily available not only for the Detention Center, but also for Enforcement personnel across the Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, this team ensured all designated county vehicles assigned to the Detention Center were prepared and available to assist with the transportation of essential personnel who were unable to safely travel to and from the facility—ensuring staffing levels were maintained and operations continued without interruption. Their actions exemplify the dedication, teamwork, and selfless service expected of members of this agency. These individuals embodied that commitment through their leadership, work ethic, and unwavering support of their fellow employees—demonstrating leadership well beyond their assigned rank. Therefore, Corporal Baker, Officer Hester, Officer Gamble, Officer Batchelor, and Deputy Hardy are selected as our Detention Staff Members of the Month.
