Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman

Author, educator, retired Tuskegee Airman and recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and the Purple Heart, Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson will discuss his book, Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free including his military service and imprisonment in Nazi Germany during World War II.

As a young man growing up in an America with deeply engrained attitudes toward race, Lt. Col. Jefferson served and protected our country with valor and distinction. As a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, he was also a true pioneer in the integration of the armed forces.
