Social Services rings bells for Child Abuse Prevention Month

Forsyth County Department of Social Services commemorated National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month with hand bell ringing on Monday, April 20.

Dozens of Social Services employees gathered in front of the Department of Social Services Walter Marshall Building for “Ring Out Child Abuse,” along with employees from Public Health and the Bridges to Hope Family Justice Center, which are both located next to DSS, along with community partner, The Parenting PATH.

A proclamation for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month is scheduled to be presented by the Forsyth County Commissioners during their Thursday, April 21, meeting. Last fiscal year, approximately 3 million reports were made to child protective service agencies across the country.
