March's issue of Forsyth County News is out now!
In this month's edition:
- 2026 Primary Election: Primary Election Day is March 3.
- Childcare assistance now available: Families who are currently employed, enrolled in school, experiencing a crisis or who have children with developmental delays are encouraged to apply for assistance with childcare services.
- Health Fair & Naloxone Training: A community resource fair at Clark Campbell Transportation Center on March 10 offers health and social service resources, with a naloxone training session on March 17 that teaches overdose reversal skills.
- Blood Pressure Monitoring at Library Branches: Self-monitoring blood pressure stations are now available to the public at eight Forsyth County Public Library branches.
- Social Services Available at Libraries: Eligibility Specialists are available at select library branches throughout the week, helping residents apply for benefits and answer questions.
- Reservations Open for Indoor Parks Facilities: All indoor facilities at county parks are now open for reservation, including Mt. Pleasant Church at Tanglewood Park, which had been closed for two years.
- Airport Control Tower Renovations: Smith Reynolds Airport will temporarily close its air traffic control tower beginning March 9 for a planned 63-day renovation project aimed at modernizing and improving the facility.
- Measles Training: Public Health and Emergency Management recently hosted a Measles tabletop exercise.
- 2026 Forsyth County Survey: The Community Survey has been mailed to a random sample of residents. This survey helps county commissioners and staff improve the services we provide for the community.
