- Cooperative Extension Has Moved: NC Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center is now operating from its new home at the Forsyth County Agricultural Park in Tobaccoville.
- Student Designs New "I Voted" Sticker: An 11-year-old student from The Arts Based School won the Board of Elections’ contest to design Forsyth County’s new “I Voted” sticker, which will be distributed to voters this fall during the midterm elections.
- Commissioners Update: County commissioners are expected to adopt the FY 2026–2027 budget this month following weeks of workshops, public hearings, and budget discussions.
- Master Gardeners at Local Farmers Markets: Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners will be available at local farmers markets throughout the growing season to answer gardening questions and provide expert advice.
- Health Fair & Naloxone Training: Health and Human Services is hosting a community resource fair and opioid overdose reversal training at Georgia E. Taylor Neighborhood Center.
- Food for Thought Nutrition Newsletter: Residents can sign up for a monthly nutrition newsletter featuring healthy living tips, recipes, activities, and information about local nutrition programs.
- Swimming Pool Safety Tips: Environmental Health shares important reminders about pool safety, including water clarity, safety equipment, drain covers, emergency phones, and secure fencing.
- Property Tax Appeal & Relief Deadlines: Property owners have until June 30 to appeal property values and until December 31 to apply for available tax relief programs for eligible seniors, disabled residents, and disabled veterans.
- Mosquito Prevention: County officials are encouraging residents to take steps to reduce mosquito populations and protect against mosquito-borne illnesses such as West Nile Virus.
- Rabies Awareness: Following a recent rabies case, Environmental Health staff are providing education on rabies prevention and ways to protect people and pets.
